A new central Nebraska veterans’ home in Kearney is a top legislative priority for the leaders of Nebraska’s major military organizations. After unanimously voting to endorse the site selection process, the Nebraska Veterans Council is actively supporting the new home.
Nebraska VFW Adjutant Quartermaster and Veterans Council treasurer John Liebsack says veterans statewide understand that the new home planned in Kearney meets the needs of current residents and the veterans of the future.
“The Kearney site is a tremendous opportunity to give our veterans real quality of life. We can all feel great about their financial support, top notch medical facilities, and location next to an active duty military community.”
The Veterans Council represents some members of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War (VFW), AmVets, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Vietnam Veterans of America, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Military Officers Association of America.
